Spa Etiquette

Bookings

It is highly recommended you book ahead for appointments with our Gold Coast Day Spa, especially for Spa Journeys and Group Bookings. All Group Bookings require a credit card deposit.

 
Arriving

Please check in at reception on arrival, and to ensure a Total Spa Experience, we require you to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This allows time to soak up the atmosphere, relax and unwind and also complete your treatment card with the therapist. 
Late arrival to your appointment will unfortunately limit your treatment time.  All treatments are completed as scheduled as a courtesy to all our guests. Late arrival may mean a reduction in your treatment time.  We understand the need to re-schedule or cancel appointments at times.  Changes to your appointment must be made with a minimum of 12 hours notice with the exception of group bookings being 72 hours notice, otherwise a cancellation fee will apply.

The Ephraim Spa, Day Spa Gold Coast has dedicated male and female change rooms complete with lockers and shower facilities.

 

Mobile Phones

We respect mobile phones are an important part of life, however, for the comfort of other guests we request that mobile phones are switched off or on silent mode at all times.

If you are expecting an important call during your treatment please advise reception or your therapist upon arrival.

 

Ipod/Mp3 player

You are welcome to bring your own music on your IPOD or MP3 Player to listen to and relax while enjoying you treatment.

 

Health matters

Please communicate health conditions such as high blood pressure, allergies or any health related concerns you may have when making your appointment.  We do not recommend the consumption of alcohol before, during or after treatments.

We provide disposable underwear for your privacy and our therapists will advise you on their usage.  They should be worn during water based treatments and massage treatments - our therapists are fully trained to drape you to protect your privacy at all times.

A professional spa treatment is only the start of the spa benefits to your lifestyle. Our therapists will be delighted to assist in recommending the perfect homecare range of products for you to ensure the maximum benefit of your selected treatment.


 
pregnancy

If you are pregnant please inform your Therapist.  We have carefully selected a range of treatments designed specifically for your needs during your pregnancy.  Whilst some treatments are unsuitable, there are many that are perfect and our spa therapists will be happy to advise you on exactly the treatments best suited to your requirements and stage of pregnancy.

 

Lockers/Valuables

We provide a secure place to store your personal items inside the Spa Suite.  However, we do not assume any liability for any valuables brought to the premises.

 

Attire/What to Wear

We provide a luxury robe and slippers for your comfort. 
As some treatments require the removal of all clothing, our therapists are fully trained in privacy procedures.
We supply disposable underwear especially for Body Wraps and Vichy Treatments.
Some guests may prefer to bring a swimming costume.
Please advise out therapist/s if you have any special requirements.

Helpful hints on how to spa
  • Please remember to drink fluid, especially water during and after your time at The Ephraim Spa.  Most of us do not take enough fluids daily - so please remember the source of life.
  • Gentlemen should shave a few hours before any facial treatment to increase comfort.
  • If you have enjoyed a massage we suggest you leave the oils on your skin for up to 2 hours before taking a shower so that your skin absorbs the oils properties.
  • Our therapists are fully trained to ensure your treatments are some of the best you will ever experience.  However, please inform them at any time if you are uncomfortable or require anything else during your treatment - massage pressure, room temperature and so on.
  • Please refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages 3 hours or longer before your treatments.
  • The therapist reserves the right to terminate the treatment if he/she feels the client's behaviour is unacceptable.
